Lucy originally joined the practice as a Conveyancing Assistant in May 2015.

She assisted fee earners within the Residential Conveyancing Department dealing with pre and post completion formalities such as; taking client’s instructions, drafting contracts, initiating searches, preparation of statements, SDLTS’s, completions and registrations at HM Land Registry. In April 2022 Lucy left CCH to experience working in a City Law firm. She continued to work and gain further experience within Residential conveyancing until she left in July 2023. 

In September 2023, Lucy enrolled herself back into university to undertake her LPC LLM. Following completion of her LPC, Lucy rejoined the practice in November 2025 as a trainee solicitor within the Private Client Department.

Kavita Lohia joined the practice in 2021 as a Conveyancing assistant.

She currently assists the fee earners in the residential conveyancing department including dealing with preparation of searches, pre completion formalities, preparation of legal documents/forms and statements etc., dealing with completion and post completion formalities.

Kavita is a highly committed LLB undergraduate.

Sandy qualified as a solicitor in 2002.

With over 20 years of experience, she puts understanding the needs of her clients at the forefront of everything.

Sandy joined us in March 2024. She has a BA (Hons) in (English Lit) and an LLB degree.  Sandy deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including acting on behalf of companies in investment properties. She runs the residential conveyancing team at our Woodford branch and is praised by clients for her personal yet professional service.  In a short time, she has built a satisfied and loyal clientele.

David Dolties, Personal Injury, Commercial Property Disputes Consultant

David has over 40 years’ experience as a solicitor, previously a partner of Romain Coleman solicitors before joining Cartwright, Cunningham, Haselgrove & Co in January 2022. 

He has developed many areas of specialism over the years and has a huge amount of experience as personal injury solicitor, assisting clients in pursuing claims. He not only deals with road traffic accident claims, but also accidents at work, slips, trips and falls.

He has been helping clients with serious injuries to achieve claim settlements which will help them to adapt to the life changing injuries they have suffered, whether through a car accident or a work accident.

David also has a long and successful history of representing landlords of commercial property in disputes with their tenants.

In his words:

“I joined Romain Coleman as a trainee in 1975, qualified in 1977 and became a partner in 1981. I always specialised in litigation, in my earlier days I was mostly involved in Landlord and Tenant matters, acting predominantly for landlords but in the last 20 years or so I have specialised as a personal injury solicitor acting exclusively for claimants and have been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel for over 15 years.

I still get a buzz when I succeed in obtaining a settlement for my client in their claim and I together with a colleague have been involved in cases of a very serious nature involving damages exceeding £1 million.”

Mark Mayo jointed the practice as a Wills and Probate Assistant in August 2017.

He currently assists the fee earners with the preparation and witnessing of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and the administration of an Estate following a death, including the preparation of HMRC Inheritance Tax Forms, Probate Applications, and other associated work. 

Mark holds a degree in History and has completed master’s degrees in history and Heritage Management.

Mujtaba Hameed (LL. B Hons) qualified as a Solicitor in 2014.

He joined the conveyancing team at practice in 2015 until 2022.  specialises in residential conveyancing and some private client work.

Mujtaba re-joined the practice at the end of 2023 to specialise in private client matters dealing with Probate, preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Mujtaba still keeps a hand in residential conveyancing when he can.

Mujtaba is confident, efficient and is known for providing a high level of service. 

Paul Human qualified as a Solicitor in 2011

After practising in the Essex region joined this practice in October 2016, working alongside Nigel Smith in the Company & Commercial Department at our Woodford Green branch, before being made Partner in June 2018.

Paul acts for a variety of clients from large companies to individuals, on matters as diverse as collective enfranchisement, residential lease extensions, commercial property sales and purchases, commercial property lettings, lending, and business sales and purchases. 

Paul enjoys singing with his local (and award-winning) choir, amateur running, and all the collected works of Brandon Sanderson.

Jack Beswick Joined the firm in 2019 as a Conveyancing Assistant.

Jack Beswick Joined the firm in 2019 as a Conveyancing Assistant. He currently assists the fee earners within the residential conveyancing department dealing with pre and post completion formalities such as undertaking searches, preparation of statements, SDLT forms and any other documents required to facilitate a transaction.

 Jack holds a BA Hons degree in History, and he is looking forward to starting his LPC soon.

Daniella Buckle joined the firm as a Conveyancing Assistant in January 2014.

Daniella currently supports the fee earners in the residential conveyancing department, assisting with a wide range of tasks including the preparation of draft contracts packs, carrying out searches, drafting legal documents, managing exchanges and completions, and handling both pre and post completion formalities.

Daniella is pursuing her legal qualifications and is studying CILEx Level 3 Diploma in Law and Practice, the first stage of academic training towards becoming a Chartered Legal Executive.

Nigel Smith was admitted as a Solicitor 1983 beginning his career in Central London, West End and Kent before joining this practice in December 1990.

Nigel became a Partner of Cartwright Cunningham Haselgrove & Co in 1996 heading the litigation department and he currently manages our Woodford Green Office.

​Throughout his professional career he has been primarily in various types of litigation with an emphasis upon commercial matters, also undertaking some non-contentious advice and drafting and applying the issue that arises in litigation when drafting of agreements for clients.

​He has experience and conducted numerous matters through to Trial including;

​Retiring as a partner in April 2024, he continues in the role of consultant at our Woodford Green Office. Nigel is a keen golfer and is past Captain of Ilford golf club, Currently Vice Chairman and Vice President.  He also enjoys travelling, experiencing new places and different ways of life and all good and interesting food.

Catherine Mackinnon heads up our Private Clients section.

Catherine Mackinnon has over 20 years’ experience working as a Solicitor having qualified in 2004. Catherine joined the practice in 2017, she was made a partner in 2024. Catherine heads both our matrimonial department and private client department. She provides advice in all aspects of matrimonial law including divorce, separation and dealing with the financial issues arising from a relationship breakdown. She also advises clients in relation to disputes concerning the arrangements for children following a separation.

In her private client practice Catherine acts in relation to probate matters as well as wills and powers of attorney. 

Catherine is approachable and sympathetic; she listens to her client’s needs putting them at ease with her comprehensive advice and ensuring they feel understood and well guided at all times. 

Bernard Klingher is Partner and head of our residential and commercial conveyancing department.

Bernard Klingher Joined the practice in 1997 as a Solicitor in our residential and commercial conveyancing department. He was made a Partner in 2001 and later made Senior partner in 2025. With over 30 years’ experience of dealing with both residential and commercial transactions.

He acts for a large range of clients from individuals to companies who buy and sell property all over the country. He also acts for many developers and lenders. He is known for his high level of service, expert advice and ability to progress transactions.

He has an LLB Hons degree in law and holds a master’s degree in law from Manchester University.

Saleem Hussain (LLB Hons) has been a private practice Solicitor since August 2002.

Saleem Hussain (LLB Hons) has been a private practice Solicitor since August 2002. Joining the practice in 2018, he was made partner in 2024. 

He has over 20 years’ experience in contentious and non- contentious civil litigation matters including property, contentious probate, aspects of employment and debt. 

Saleem is approachable, understanding and professional in his practice, and is fluent in conversational Urdu and Hindi.
